Pres-On Spooling Equipment Lowers Converting Costs with Longer Runs, Improves OEM Productivity

ADDISON, IL, January 29, 2010 -- Pres-On, a leading manufacturer of industrial tapes and gaskets, is one of the first converters in America to offer its customers the profit-building advantages of "extreme length" foam tape spooling. Pres-On's in-house machinery can spool as much as forty-times more material on every roll than a standard spooler, helping OEM customers experience fewer assembly line interruptions, simplifying their logistics, and reducing overall downtime.

"Since placing our spooling system into service last year we've had a major uptick in orders for extreme length single- and double-sided foams," said John Starkey, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Pres-On. Custom built for Pres-On, the new spooling equipment rewinds from a 33-inch diameter roll and converts down to a reel width maximum of 17-inch traverse face and a maximum diameter of 14 inches. Rolls stay together during processing to keep materials clean. The versatile equipment accommodates plastic films, non-woven fabrics, composites, coated and uncoated paper, adhesive tapes and other industrial materials.

In addition to spooling, Pres-On complete converting services include adhesive coating and laminating, slitting and rewinding, die cutting and sheeting.
