Pres-On Setting Blocks Allow Manufacturers to Add Protection & Value to Window Production

-- Versatile “glazing shims” available in silicone, neoprene and EPDM –

ADDISON, IL, December 23, 2008 — Pres-On®, a leading supplier of adhesive-backed industrial products, now offers windows manufacturers a new addition to its increasingly popular adhesive solutions family with the introduction of a heavy-duty line of setting blocks in commercial-grade silicone, neoprene or EPDM.

Also known as glazing shims, Pres-On setting blocks are installed inside a window sash, between the sash and insulated glass unit, to deliver dependable protection to insulated glass from the impact of sash openings and closings. Exhibiting high-performance tensile strength, the blocks stop glass from cracking, while maintaining the integrity of the glazing bead.

Pres-On setting blocks provide additional value by furnishing stress relief when vinyl windows expand and contract due to varying temperatures. Silicone blocks are lab tested to perform in a temperature range of -80 F to 450 F.

Standard roll sizes are in lengths of 50- to 100-feet in thicknesses ranging from 1/16- to 1/4-inch. Silicone, neoprene and EPDM blocks can be ordered with or without an acrylic adhesive applied. Like all Pres-On products, the new setting blocks can be configured specifically to meet the unique requirements of window OEMs.
